Personal vision

Life and personal progression

I am a neoclassical pianist, producer, and composer. My music blends classical piano with a modern touch.

With a passion for innovation, I aim to explore the fusion of neoclassical music with electronic elements in my future projects, creating a unique and captivating soundscape. Driven by a desire to push the boundaries of sound, I experiment with a combination of organic sounds, airy acoustic instruments, and electronic elements. This approach allows me to shape a rich and immersive auditory experience that transcends traditional genre boundaries.

Looking ahead, I plan to delve deeper into the world of electronic music. By integrating electronic sounds with neoclassical compositions, I strive to craft a distinctive and forward-thinking musical journey that resonates with a diverse audience. My work is characterized by a commitment to creating music that is both emotionally evocative and sonically adventurous. Through my compositions, I want to take listeners on a journey, blending the familiar with the unexpected to create a truly unique listening experience.

Olivier

Olivier Stollenwerk, Haarlem, the Netherlands, began his musical journey at the age of 8. After starting with regular piano lessons, he realized that sheet music wasn’t quite his thing. After 8 years of using sheet music, he decided to quit this method in 2022 and started his own journey: “Composing by ear.”

Music played a significant role in Olivier’s youth. He was raised by a father who is a great music lover, with records always playing at home. Olivier’s sentimental genres include trip-hop, soul, jazz, and many more from that sector.

Additionally, his dad experimented with music during his student years, introducing Olivier to the concept of “music production” by getting some music equipment for fun. Over the years, Olivier became familiar with the well-known “D.A.W.” (digital audio workstation), starting with GarageBand and now using Ableton as his standard. By integrating hardware and acoustic elements into both “commercial” and “experimental artistic productions,” he develops new techniques and workflows. Olivier’s current small experimental project involves learning how to record the acoustic piano with different microphones and techniques to create beautiful, human recordings instead of flat and processed robotic sounds.
